  • Lead the Life & Health front-end technology Solutions Delivery function that operates across FWD Group
  • Manage a team of 100+ across multiple locations (CN, HK, MY) supporting 10+ enterprise distribution application systems from front end to sales tools & sales support, for full spectrum of our distribution ecosystems, incl. and not limited to bancassurance, agency, IFA, eCommerce, corporate agency, and brokerages.
  • Collaborate with FWD country and functions to drive operationalization of technology solution prioritization and execution
  • Drive solution development roadmaps collaboration on solution design to achieve optimal business outcomes
  • Deliver optimized technology solutions to drive operational efficiencies in line with target operating models and business goals
  • Build and lead a comprehensive, leading practice, solution delivery operations, to enable & accelerate FWD to achieve Polaris Digital & Cloud enabled transformations
  • Represent FWD solution delivery organization internally to Group Executives, country CTOs and all Business Unites across FWD markets, and externally with Cloud Ecosystem Partners. Serve as a key member in Group IT Senior IT Leadership and Governance committee.

  • Responsible for performance of FWD solution delivery organization for Distribution applications that consists of frontend and backend team, working group of designated members from FWD Markets & Core service members from Cloud CoE, infra, cybersecurity and enterprise architecture teams
  • Ensure deep understanding of business unites/stakeholder groups critical needs, provide clarity on application technologies, such AI, IoT and cloud that can realize flexibility, risk mitigation, and commercial contestability in our business operations, to realize the expected benefits.
  • Feasibility solution study and cost analysis comparing different technology options of legacy systems to the Cloud
  • Lead across Technology organizations to define roadmap of the development capability and functions that solution delivery organization will deliver over time. Differentiate our partnership with multi providers/vendors for our operations.
  • Facilitate the entire Group & market technology team to identify options and plans to fulfill the 3-year Group Technology Strategy objectives
  • Speed up the solution delivery by deploying and scaling the applications through the adoption of cloud

  • Lead to define the technology solution roadmap and implementation strategy with Group & Country technology teams and business leaders across identified Life & Health systems, lead for adopting new application that hosted on cloud services, and microservice/containerization application architecture in solution and design
  • Lead the Front-End application development and infrastructure to define the DevOps best practices through technology solution design and delivery execution efforts, and drive for automatic software deployment
  • Define measurable and quality metrics for solutions as assigned
  • Design systems for scale, harmonization and reusability to support leverageable technology solution assets

  • Facilitate solutions prioritization and delivery in concert with Group/Country technology, functions and business leaders
  • Partner Group Platforms and respective business, functions, country and peer Technology teams to embed technologies to achieve target business outcomes, and benefits realizing through technologies
  • Partner stakeholders to manage technology solution roadmaps as a going concern, aligned with defined target business goals and target IT architecture
  • Support countries and business functions with budget assessments and approvals for implementation and operationalization to drive business benefit and efficiencies

  • Drive the standardization & modernization of Life systems across FWD countries, e.g. FWD Smart & Operation Work Bench (OWB), Auto underwriting (Underwrite Me) for all BUs and etc.
  • Act as the key IT business partner for China, as assigned, to ensure operational management of assigned Life systems.
  • Represent the Front-end solution function to agree on defining technology roadmaps, project prioritization and project implementation details in respective project steering committee, e.g., integration projects post M&A.
  • Ensure coordinated design, development and deployment plans with business functions and technology solutions delivery teams
  • Support the operationalization of technology capabilities and best practices consistent with company vision and business goals
  • Leads multi-geography teams to ensure resource optimal resource allocation of assigned Life systems, and continue improvement of team performance and their technical and non-technical competencies on solution deliveries
  • Steward the management of technology projects through its life cycle, including resources planning, budget monitoring, clients expectation management, change management, contingency planning, risk assessment and mitigation

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent, minimum 15 years working experience in Information Technology, with at least 6 years at a senior manager position or above, specialized in system development
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Proven track records in managing front-end systems, preferably experiences in implementing insurance IT systems/projects in multi-geography environment

  • Solid understanding of the technology industry, including current and emerging digital solutions
  • Exemplify good interpersonal communication skills at all levels of business users, IT, partners and vendors
  • Deep appreciation of latest and emerging technologies and practice, such as DevOps, Cloud, Microservice and Mobile development
  • Implementation experience in Life insurance systems, e.g. Point of sales, compensation system, workflow and CRM will be an advantage.
