The RCC supports and engages the District Staff via the Business Risk and Compliance Committee to facilitate risk discussions and manage risk mitigation project plans to ensure compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations. He/she will also support and implement applicable Compliance & Ethics programs.
The RCC needs to have a solid background in project management, be able to work independently, as well as collaborate with various functional head of departments.
The position will be based in the UPS China, Shanghai office and reports to the Region Compliance & Ethics Director based in Singapore.
Regulatory Project Management
Coordinate internal resources for the execution of risk mitigation projects to ensure that deliverables are on-time, within scope and within budget. Projects are primarily regulatory-focused, to ensure continued levels of compliance with applicable policies, laws and regulations;
Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;
Leverage applicable project management platforms to monitor and provide periodic reporting of the project status via the Business Risk and Compliance Committee; and
Develop and maintain a China Regulatory Compliance Dashboard.
Facilitates the District Business Risk & Compliance Committee (BRCC)
Work closely with District Manager, appointed BRCC coordinator, and relevant stakeholders to coordinate and facilitate risk identification, assessment and discussions; and
Escalate high risk topics to the District, Region or Corporate functions to ensure adequate support and attention is accorded so as to facilitate project plan execution.
Support and implement Compliance & Ethics programs
Act as the primary point of contact for Compliance and Ethics related queries. Program includes anti-bribery and corruption, anti-trust, conflicts of interest, and data privacy;
Monitors and coordinates the execution of Compliance & Ethics initiatives, such as core compliance training for employees and third parties, employee whistleblower hotline, third party due diligence, license management, and self-assessments;
Coordinate matters concerning data privacy and protection with Region Data Protection Officer, and support data privacy program by fostering a data protection culture in country.
Strong communication and presentation skills, and proficient in both Chinese and English (written and oral);
Ability to effectively manage and communicate with senior management, and interface with local regulators, where required;
At least 3-5 years of management experience in a MNC preferred;
Proven working experience in project management with proficiency in project management software. Professional project management certifications or willingness to obtain one would be preferred; and
Willingness to obtain relevant professional compliance & ethics and data privacy certification (e.g. SCCE, IAPP).
Ability to travel 15%-20% of the time within China
