Job Description



The main goal of Microsoft Technical Specialists (TSs) is to win the technical decision of customers to purchase and use our technology - with the TS focusing on Power BI products & services. TSs are expected to be able to both own and win customers technical decisions, as well as find new opportunities through their contacts and engagements for sales specialists to further pursue. As a TS, you work within a virtual team of technical, partner and consulting resources to help educate your customers at a technical level, demonstrate and prove our solutions, and win the technical decision, allowing the team to achieve/exceed quarterly Microsoft 365 and Power BI sales/usage targets in your accounts. Being part of this team will allow you to maintain and develop your deep technical expertise across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud-based infrastructure technologies.

Responsibilities:
  • Solution Design & Proof for Power BI. Demonstrates and oversees demonstrations, presents and applies architecture patterns, proves capabilities and integration into customer environment, and drives cross-workload support for Microsoft solutions for Power BI. Coaches team in addressing customer digital transformation and leveraging insights to align new or changing technology to customer business intelligence needs.
  • Build Strategy for Power BI. Contributes to business intelligence and data-driven decision-making strategy development, shapes strategic win plan and tailors Microsoft messaging to audience for Power BI opportunities. Enhances team capabilities for business intelligence and develops compete strategies for Power BI for assigned customers.
  • Scale Power BI Customer Engagements. Remediates blockers leads and ensures technical wins for Power BI and adjacent technologies. Engages with and reaches out to customers proactively and independently builds credibility with customers as a trusted advisor for business intelligence and searches for and uses business intelligence customer references.
  • Education & Thought Leadership for Power BI. Builds personal readiness plan and grows business intelligence domain knowledge and practices expertise. Acts as a mentor for Power BI, its integration with other Microsoft products & services, and business intelligence solutions generally and increases internal virtual teams understanding of business intelligence solutions and new opportunities.
  • Scale Through Partners. Engages in partner sell-with scenarios and supports partner technical capacity.

  • substantial experience in technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field additional or preferred qualification.
  • proven experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructures, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management.
  • certification in relevant technologies or disciplines (e.g., office 365, power bi, azure architect and development exams, cloud platform technologies, information security, architecture).
