Laboratory Animal Services Centre


The appointee will be reporting directly to the Laboratory Manager, and will be responsible for (a) performing mouse assisted reproductive technologies, including embryo/sperm cryopreservation, in vitro fertilisation, strain rederivation, microinjection, intracytoplasmic sperm injection, and embryo transfer (b) maintaining laboratory equipment and performing housekeeping to support facility daily operation (c) managing laboratory inventory and records (d) conducting genotyping and colony management (e) compiling requested documentation (f) providing technical support to projects and teaching and (g) performing other tasks as assigned. Training will be provided if needed.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor&rsquos degree or above in Biochemistry, Biotechnology or equivalent (ii) at least 5 years of hands-on experience in mouse assisted reproductive technologies (iii) fundamental research background in genetically modified animal models (iv) strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, and attentiveness to details and (v) a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

Appointment will initially be made on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
