Summary
Responsible for providing quality technical support to ensure that customers receive accurate advice on product usage on Thermo Fisher reagents, consumables, instruments, and applications in Life Sciences through telephone and email, thereby contributing substantially to customer satisfaction and loyalty resulting in a contribution to the overall success of the business. Major Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for Bioscience product lines (Protein preparation & expression, molecular biology, cloning, and cell research product line) by answering customer technical inquiries. Inquiries may be received via telephone or email.
  • Provides troubleshooting support to customers and resolves customers complaints of a technical nature.
  • Provide product selection, applications, usage advice.
  • Provide customer support on technical issues by utilizing all available resources. Escalate issues or problems when warranted.
  • Accurately record pertinent information from customer contacts in CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system to build a strong customer database and assist the business by identifying, recording, and escalating opportunities.
  • Interact with local, regional, and global colleagues to ensure the sharing of knowledge.
  • The role is primarily office-based and will be part of a dedicated professional call center team to remotely support technical queries, but occasionally will also be required to provide field support in training and troubleshooting at customer sites.
  • May be required to perform other related duties as opportunities arise.

Skills/Behaviors Required
Professional skills
  • 5+ years of hands-on work experience in a wide range of techniques in life sciences.
  • A good understanding and hands-on experience of molecular biology, cloning, protein expression, nucleus application, and gene editing & regulator sciences are necessary, experience in cell culture and stem cell biology will be a plus.
  • Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to quickly learn large amounts of new, complex technical information.
  • Proven ability to digest large amounts of new and complex technical information in a short time.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role and excellent communication skills to deal with scientific communication with customers.
  • High energy, patience, team player, and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to participate in discussions and to express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to deliver good presentations and participate in discussions in both Mandarin and English.

  • MSc or Ph. D. in Cell Biology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related field.
