Teaching Assistant in the Emergency Medicine Unit of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 503662) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or other related disciplines, preferably with a Master’s degree in one of the aforesaid disciplines and at least 1 year’s post-qualification work experience in elderly, healthcare or education setting. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese is essential. Applicants should have strong communication skills; and be able to multi-task, and work independently and as a team. Basic knowledge of using statistical software such as SPSS is desirable, but not mandatory.
The appointee will work in a project team to develop curriculum and teaching materials for elderly adults in emergency care. He/She will collaborate with various community partners to support, design, and conduct evaluation studies of transitional care. He/She will be responsible for literature review; drafting proposals; coordination of data collection activities; data analysis; preparation of teaching and published materials (including online materials), presentations, manuscripts and reports; liaison with elderly people, NGOs partners and collaborators; coordinating student assessment and course evaluation; and performing other project and/ or research-related duties as assigned by the investigators. Working flexible hours or outside office hours might be required.
