Teaching Assistant in the Division of Landscape Architecture in the Department of Architecture (Ref.: 515509) (to commence on August 22, 2022, or as soon as possible thereafter for one year, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in landscape architecture, environmental science, urban planning, architecture, geography or a related field. They should have excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua) the ability to communicate with a range of audiences and a high level of computer proficiency. They also should have a strong sense of responsibility and strategic awareness the capability of working proficiently with significant independence and be able to keep their subordinates motivated to deliver quality work under tight deadlines. A solid understanding of the higher education sector in teaching and learning and experience in handling quality assurance processes and accreditation exercises are preferred. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PPT software and/or substantial experience in drafting formal documents would be an advantage.
The appointee will provide teaching and administrative support to a taught postgraduate programme on Sustainable Environmental Design, and to the Head of Division and Programme Directors in the programme's operations. He/She will assist the course lecturers with course preparation and administration provide logistics and coordination work between teachers and students grade assignments and tests support field trips and other academic activities invigilate examinations provide consultative support to students outside class and manage the web-based course Moodle. He/She will also perform any other duties as assigned by the Programme Directors. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
