A regional officer / supervisor role in assisting development of SD&I function within FedEx Trade Networks region. Tasks may include all the way from vendor price negotiation, price proposal development, solutions design, project implementation and continuous improvement of warehouse and distribution projects. This role will also be assigned with daily operations support in order to ensure proper FedEx standard and KPI is in-line with corporate or senior management's requirement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • SOLUTIONS AND OPERATIONS DEVELOPMENT
    Assign with different projects from internal and external customers and from which develop a sounded supply chain & logistics solutions through completion of multiple job tasks include vendor buy rate negotiation and collection, facility site inspection, cost model development, price proposal development, proposal and solutions write-up, implementation of project (once awarded of a project) and continuous performance review development. This also includes ad-hoc projects both solutions and daily operations tasks to be assigned by senior management.
  • BUSINESS PLANNING AND ACTIVITIES
    Assist management in conducting studies to review and understand the customer's requirement including warehouse operations, distribution center, e-commerce fulfillment center, and other distribution services such as local delivery, inbound or outbound truck pickup and delivery so as to develop effective pricing solutions take lead to develop a pipeline report and manage the bidding rate and pricing database for all warehouse and distribution service programs including the related charges of service providers (warehouse operator, truck operator) and operational cost in order to keep track of project activities within a region.
  • OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
    Assigned by senior management to review and monitor warehouse and distribution center operations performance especially to process improvement and 2PL KPI audit activities so as to create professional day-to-day operations environment thru setting up of proper standard operating procedure manual, KPI performance matrix report and other quality controlling tool may assign to lead on any ah-hoc, facility relocation initiatives and programs within region.
  • QUALITY MANAGEMENT & SOLUTIONS TOOLS STANDARIZATION
    Assist in develop, implement and monitor warehouse and truck operations security standard to ensure C-TPAT compliance and policy to suit each country operations may assign to write up simple operating procedure manual in LSA and SA sections for management and legal team review assist in design and standardize logistics engineering tools, cost model, pricing templates and implementation tools within region and to ensure are in compliance of business objectives
  • REPORTING AND ANALYSIS
    develop solutions pipeline reports at the regional level monitor regional logistics and supply chain business performance and report to senior management of SD&I on variance, contingent plan and improvement plan so as to meet business goals within region perform different administrative support include report generation, coordination work within SD&I team as per assigned.

REQUIREMENTS
44 working hours per week, Monday to Friday
Academic:
  • Preferable in Bachelor Degree in Transportation/Logistics or related discipline

Experience & knowledge:
  • At least 4 years relevant experience working in global based transportation and freight forwarding company or logistics company in which at least 2 years in logistics operation or solutions supervisory role
  • All-round logistics mind set with knowledge in logistics and solutions engineering, well experience in warehousing and distribution service operations, project management and implementation experience is an asset
  • Experience and knowledge in China bonded logistics park operations, free trade zone operations and customs regulations is preferable
  • Experience in logistics solutions sales presentation skills is preferable
  • Good relationship & networking building and retention skills with logistics service providers, warehouse & trucking operators within HK and SPRC region
  • Computer literate, especially MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio drawing tools
  • Experience in using warehouse management system and ERP tools

  • Work independently and is able to take leadership during project design, implementation, execution and continuous improvement stages
  • Excellent spoken and written English and Mandarin (Chinese)
  • Occasional local or daily travel within HK and SPRC as per project and implementation needs.
  • May require off-site remote working area during warehouse project implementation stage
