• Experience in delivering solutions over a number of years in roles other than architecture
• Experience in working in relevant environments and role. i.e. Solution architect in digital technologies
• Technical and business stakeholder management from developer to executive management
• Experience of being accountable for significant architectural decisions and provide justification for decisions taken
• Ability to collaborate with engineers to ensure solutions adhere to principles and direction set
• Ability to convey thoughts, ideas and opinions clearly and concisely face-to-face or virtually with the capability to adapt verbal and written communications to appropriate audience
• Approachable manner and be a supportive team member with a collaborative attitude within a demanding, fast paced Agile environment
• Capability to influence and champion new ideas and technical direction within the organization
• Personal maturity and confidence to listen, reflect and adopt upon what others communicate to you
• Positive working attitude, with motivation, determination, dedication, resiliency, honesty and enthusiasm
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills• Knowledge of the Insurance business lines (life, employee benefits, etc), programmes and environments would be an advantage.

• Realignment of legacy processes and capabilities to meet new business requirement
• Joining up disparate teams and priorities to ensure most efficient delivery of business needs
• Ensuring HClient Insurance IT is represented in the wider RBWM construct from a budgetary, resource and priority perspective
Key responsibilities*
Principal responsibilities
• Provides innovative and practical designs that account for the end to end solution from frontend into insurance back office engine components that are in line with the insurance business objectives
• Contribute to address the enterprise architecture target of core life insurance platform transformation, which is micro service and decoupled component based
• Leading architecture design for end-to-end functions within the Insurance Digital space. Leverage and ensure reusability across other insurance projects, in order to minimize throw away development, and demonstrate incremental achievement towards target of core life insurance platform transformation
• Communicating short, medium, long term architecture in a business context to ensure relevant and addressing the business need
• Ensuring architectural direction aligns with both the business objectives and the technology target architecture to standardize and simplify the associated application portfolio over time
• Providing architectural direction and guidance to the engineering teams working on an Agile environment
• Developing skills across architectural team and wider department
• Driving technical understanding and direction in both Business and IT stakeholder
• Provide technical oversight, and work with business/product owners, analysts for the design of insurance solutions that are consistent with enterprise architectural standards, processes and tools.
• Ensure solution designs address performance requirements and reusability, scalability, availability/recovery, integrity and security challenges, as well as business functional requirements.
• Provide expert knowledge of business requirements to the application development and server infrastructure teams, as well as third-party vendors throughout all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behavior
