We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Software Engineering Manager.
Principal responsibilities:
Leadership & Development
- Establishes and implements individual and team priorities, performance goals and objectives to ensure completion of responsibility for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
- Provides training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent.
- Manages and evaluates individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards.
- Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality.
- Manages assigned area(s) of responsibility to ensure workloads are appropriately balanced among team members.
- Ensures that top talent is hired and retained for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Product & Strategic Development
- Define and rollout best practices on business requirement definitions and documentation, using agile tools and techniques.
- Consults with internal and/or external stakeholders to ensure solutions meet business needs.
- Collaborates with internal and/or external stakeholders and management to assess, select and recommend solutions and/or alternative approaches that will achieve business goals, reduce time to market, cost, scope, while achieving a high-quality deliverable.
- Defines and builds organizational capabilities necessary to meet the business strategy.
- Help influence and support the strategic IT roadmap for the company. Work with business and IT peers to help define, develop and maintain strategic and tactical programs and plans.
- Develop and deliver presentations to business and IT senior management.
- Serves as a resource to team members and internal/external stakeholders on more complex assignments/projects.
- Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
- Manages and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, Business, or related discipline preferred. Education requirements may be satisfied with commensurate experience
- 10+ Years experience in business analysis role including 2+ years of managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience. 3+ years of international trade working experience. 3+ years deployment project experience
- Strong organizational skills, attention to details and ability to make sound decisions
- Strong analytical ability, judgment and problem analysis techniques
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal and able to effectively work with senior management and executives
