Are you someone who loves to work on complex problems and enjoys turning complex functionality into beautiful designs Does the idea of creating solutions that will affect millions of users who care deeply about both productivity and ease-of-use resonate with you The Developer Division Design Team is looking for a Senior UX Designer for Azure Developer Services that will define and deliver a first-class user experience developers. You should have an understanding of Azure or equivalent cloud platforms and developer workflows. The impact you will make working on all these pieces would be felt by the millions of people that use our products every day, as well as by the millions of people still to discover them!

Responsibilities involve collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams (program management, development, research and partner teams) to define the product space, user models and product/feature definitions research and telemetry to understand customer issues and exploring design solutions to meet those needs leading design exercises, providing detailed design specifications, and driving consistency through Developer Division Azure services and driving impact to the Azure design system.

  • Strong UI/interaction design & research skills with a critical mindset.
  • Ability to translate highly complex technical challenges into more humane design solutions by applying customer-centered design approaches.
  • Ability to develop a cohesive overall design strategy & assess possible design solutions against these criteria.
  • Ability to test and validate design solutions and measure the business impact.
  • Ability to translate qualitative & quantitative data into more actionable design solutions.
  • Ability to generate and drive design ideas and to communicate those ideas effectively.
  • Ability to work both independently and in collaborative teams.
  • Familiarity with some aspect of programming or scripting (such as CSS and HTML) is not required, but a strong plus.


basic qualificaitons:
  • 8 plus years experience of interaction design for enterprise applications, with a preference for rich web apps and/or desktop apps.
  • experience working client side on products at a software development company preferred. (not just agency experience)
  • bachelor's degree or equivalent in a discipline related to ux design or equivalent industry experience
