In this role, you have the opportunity to
lead the system design, improvements and maintenance of market-leading products in the field of X-ray based image guided therapy (IGT) along its life cycle.
You are responsible for
  • System design and engineering activities related to clinical applications, remote serviceability, diagnostics, upgrades and data collection
  • Develop and release solutions and proposition supporting IGT platforms of Azurion, Intrasight and Zenition
  • Support definition and execution of our roadmap in relation to clinical applications, Windows and Cloud based platforms, serviceability, remote interaction and data gathering
  • Work with cross functional teams to translate user needs into system requirements and systems designs that can be effectively implemented as part of new product introductions as well as in our installed base
  • Enabling & supporting the quality processes related to medical device development, risk management, post market surveillance

  • Leads the requirements and risk management of a system or system function
  • Elicits and analyses the stakeholder requirements in line with their user needs
  • Prepares proposals and alternatives for discussion with major stakeholders.
  • Specifies the requirements of a product release, which serves as contract for the project's WHAT will be delivered, with focus on good-is-good-enough
  • Manages safety, privacy, and security risks for the system or system function in question
  • Leads the overall design and integration for a system or system function in a project aligned with the product architecture as defined and owned by the product owners.
  • Leads the design to the level that it can be realized by mono-disciplinary project teams
  • Defines the technical concept, maps dependencies, and implements the constraints that originate from legacy, regulatory and relevant cross functional areas
  • Discusses, deploys and attunes solutions with the project (core) team members
  • Determines and manages the external and internal interfaces framework in cooperation with all interface stakeholders
  • Leads solutions when issues are found during implementation, integration & test
  • Represents R&D in the project core team
  • Responsible for one or more SRS and UID ensures alignment with all relevant stakeholders
  • Responsible for team priority setting (new features, improvements, engineering issues) within the boundaries of the assignment from the programming team
  • Verify implementation on application (system) level, and ensure testability of the application
  • Monitors and manages that the design is understood, deployed, and used / implemented correctly by the project team
  • Supports Integral and/or R&D Project Manager with planning and budget
  • Estimates own and team work and defines worked-out scenarios to optimize a plan
  • Obtains and maintains internal and external network for knowledge build-up.

The Interventional Applications (iApps) group within the China Image Guided Therapy (IGT) Cluster R&D organization in Philips is a newly formed team to support further strategic growth of IGT in China. The iApps group plays a crucial role in the design, development and maintenance of clinical applications and solutions for our customers. The China IGT cluster collaborates with the global teams across the sites of Netherlands, India, USA and Israel. The global team is responsible for the development and maintenance of 20+ 2D & 3D Interventional Applications, used in combination with our Azurion, Intrasight and Zenition product platforms. Our products are used across all clinical area of Neuro, cardiac, Oncology and vascular medical diagnosis and intervention (e.g. balloon angioplasty and stent procedures). Customers are interventional specialists, in the cardiology and radiology domain operating in hospitals across the globe.

We help healthcare providers to decide, guide, treat and confirm the right care in real time during the procedure to enable better outcomes for each patient and at population level.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
  • Master degree in engineering disciplines
  • In-depth knowledge of SW development (including enterprise level SW)
  • Experience in the fields of Cloud computing / networking / security
  • Proven experience in systems architecture / systems engineering
  • Hands-on experience in setting up and executing projects
  • Affinity to medical device standards and regulatory requirements
  • Very strong analytical skills, proven ability to understand dependencies within a complex system & break it down in smaller tasks & plan
  • Strong communication skills and experience in creating alignment between broad varieties of stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Experience in AI and data analytics is a plus
  • Experience in systems modelling and model based systems engineering is a plus
  • Proficient in spoken and written English and documentation practices
