Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Manager and Legal Consultant in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 515450)to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
Applicants should possess a good Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in Hong Kong or a Bachelor's degree in Law from a common law jurisdiction would be advantageous, with a minimum of 5 years broadly based administrative work experience in private or public organisations, preferably with experience in advising on a broad range of legal issues including but not limited to commercial, labour, intellectual property and infrastructure development. They should preferably be a solicitor or barrister admitted to practice in Hong Kong with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience. Applicants should be excellent communicators with an exceptional command of English and Chinese and have a proven capability in providing legal advice with strong analytical ability to make independent judgement with a high level of acumen in social and political issues. They should also be positive, diligent and self-motivated with good inter-personal skills. Previous Mainland China and international exposure would be advantageous.
The appointee will assist in administrative, business development and strategic projects work as assigned, and provide legal advice to the Faculty propose and/or update administrative measures draft and update guidance notes, implementation guidelines issued by the Faculty vet and provide legal advice on responses to media enquiries, public enquiries and the handling of complaints manage contract or other legal documents review and execution. The appointment will be made at the rank of Administrative Assistant I those with lesser experience will be appointed at the rank of Administrative Assistant II. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
