Global Asset Management, the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC's worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. Global Asset Management fulfills its purpose of connecting HSBC's clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior ESG Integration Analyst.
Principal Responsibilities
  • Support the integration of ESG across public equity and fixed income investment strategies
  • Supplement work of the investment team with relevant insights and data on ESG topics
  • Engage at senior level with China-based investee companies & other issuers to encourage improvement on material ESG issues that seek to enhance shareholder value
  • Produce thought pieces on a diverse range of sustainability topics such as climate change, waste management, human rights and diversity
  • Support the sales / marketing and client teams in dealing with ad-hoc requests on ESG topics
  • Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across regions and asset classes to enable integration of ESG factors into investment process
  • Support other RI-related activities as required including participation in working groups, presentations
Qualifications
Requirements
  • Graduate or post graduate with training and subject matter knowledge of environmental, social and governance issues, and emerging trends
  • Significant experience of the investment management industry
  • Direct operational experience of integration of ESG into the investment process
  • At least five years experience of successful engagement with corporates in the Asian region is essential
  • Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Mandarin and English proficiency are essential; business fluency in other major languages an advantage
