Local Unit & Position Description

The Artificial Intelligence Research Centre (AIRC) is a branch within Group Research and Development (GRD) established in Shanghai.
DNV invests substantially in research, development and innovation to provide a trusted voice and value to our customers and society at large. Our Group Research and Development focuses on knowledge development and provides scientific legitimacy, thought leadership and forecasts on the world's major transformations.
The AIRC focuses on building competence and prototypes with the aim to assurance of AI and apply machine learning and deep learning to industries served by DNV.
Position Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will contribute to research and development projects within the Artificial Intelligence Research Centre. She/He will report to the head of the AIRC and be responsible for the following tasks:
  • Identify, explore and develop new research opportunities for creating value to DNV's business activities and future strategy.
  • Develop cutting-edge AI technologies both for enhancing current services and shaping the future, including deliveries of PoC, demonstrators and prototypes, to achieve our leading position.
  • Cross-disciplinary collaboration to conduct research in multiple areas, including maritime, oil & gas, power & renewable, precision medicine and other DNV's related business.
  • Write technical reports, publish position and white papers, present results to internal and external stakeholders.
Position Qualifications

  • Master or higher degree in related disciplines and research areas, such as AI/Machine learning, Computer Science/Engineering, Information, Mathematics etc.
  • Strong self-motivation with critical thinking and results driven spirits. You can work independently, and you are also a good team player.
  • 3-5 years of experience conducting research & development resulting in creative solutions.
  • Ability to self-drive research with open questions is required.
  • Familiar with AI related risk is a plus.
  • Familiar with the mainstream machine learning algorithms.
  • Familiar with big data technologies and SCADA system is a plus.
  • Experience in sensor technologies and AIoTs is a plus.
  • Renewable energy industry experience is a plus.
  • Good coding skills and communications skills are also highly appreciated.
