As a SCM/Sourcing Engineer, you will be responsible for sourcing activities at ABB servo motors business. It is part of SCM team that is agile, moves at the seed of change and is positive in its approach to continued improve sourcing activities to support the fast-growing business for Motion Business Area in Shanghai, China Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will develop and execute procurement projects.Your responsibilities
  • Participating in cross-functional team and following purchasing principals (Total Cost of Ownership, Innovation, avoid single sourcing, promote standardization, supply chain flexibility, quality) to support operation strategy
  • Managing double source for critical components and project from RFQ to mass production
  • Working with internal teams to deal with highlight supplier issues, like delivery, quality issues, etc.
  • Evaluating suppliers performance including price level, capacity, quality and technology plans, and so on
  • Negotiating competitive commercial terms for material, fixed assets, service contracts and procurement contracts
  • Developing and maintaining systems to support procurement information needs
  • Supporting for value engineering and change of supplier
Your background
  • 3+ years working experience in manufacturing
  • Familiar with at least one of plastic injection/stamping/electronics/machining process
  • Must have strong negotiation skills
  • Familiar with procurement process and quality system
  • Strong project management skill
  • A Bachelor's degree or above, majored in engineering.
  • Fluent in written and oral English. Additional Japanese language highly preferred
