Job Description


The appointee(s) will be assigned to work on projects promoting whole-child development and play-based teaching, and be responsible for (a) delivering lectures; (b) conducting teacher education workshops; (c) supporting teachers in collaborative lesson planning; (d) providing consultation for school curriculum development and school improvement; (e) co-operating with teachers in developing school-based curriculum and innovative pedagogy; and (f) performing other duties as assigned.
Applicants should have (i) work experience as educators or teachers and familiarity with early childhood education; (ii) the ability to provide consultation to kindergartens on school improvement, positive education and/or play-based learning; and (iii) the ability to lead workshops, and work independently and under pressure.
Applicants for School Development Officer I should have a Bachelor%26#39;s degree plus at least eight years%26rsquo; relevant post-degree work experience in the education sector; OR a Bachelor%26rsquo;s degree and a postgraduate diploma/certificate/degree (preferably a higher degree) in Education or equivalent, plus at least six years%26rsquo; relevant post-qualification work experience.
Applicants for School Development Officer II should have a Bachelor%26#39;s degree plus at least six years%26rsquo; relevant post-degree work experience in the education sector; OR a Bachelor%26rsquo;s degree and a postgraduate diploma/certificate/degree (preferably a higher degree) in Education or equivalent, plus at least four years%26rsquo; relevant post-qualification work experience. Possession of a postgraduate diploma or a higher degree in Education will be advantageous. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant School Development Officer(s).
