KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER OFFICE (PR0138/20-21)
Hong Kong Baptist University has been awarded funding in relation to the Job Creation Scheme under Anti-epidemic Fund 2.0 of the Government to create employment opportunities.
The Knowledge Transfer Office (KTO) serves as the bridge between the University and community for the transfer of knowledge, technology, expertise, skills and capabilities in campus-wide disciplines. KTO also runs the Business Entrepreneurship Support & Training Programme and support knowledge transfer activities undertaken by academic units in the University. Collaborating with Departments of Physics and Marketing, KTO will co-teach two innovation driven General Education Capstone courses for Year 3 undergraduate students.
The Office now invites applications for the following positions for successful delivery of its GE Capstone courses:
1. Research Associate (2 vacancies)
- Construct GE Capstone case studies materials and activities, connect with stake owners, and make necessary research preparation
- Write articles for the stake owners on how HKBU students will benefit the society via the courses
- Plan and execute events/programmes, especially in the fields of arts, creativity, culture, and public engagement for the courses
- Liaise with external partners, e.g. venue partners, NGOs and government bodies
- Plan and collaborate with designers in multimedia production, e.g. electronic newsletters, promotional materials on social media
- Other tasks as assigned by Head of KTO
2. Research Assistant (1 vacancy)
- Assist in the duties of Research Associate stated above
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above with at least two years of work experience. They should have good interpersonal, communication, analytical and organisational skills and reasonable proficiency in English and Putonghua. Suitable appointees should be good team players with positive and customer-oriented attitude, as well as outgoing and meticulous personality.
For Post 1: efficient skills in web/graphic design software (e.g. Dreamweaver, InDesign, Flash, Photoshop, Illustrator) are preferred.
For Post 2: proven track records in organisation of events and exhibitions in arts, culture and public engagement are preferred.
As stipulated by the Government, applicants should be Hong Kong permanent residents. The Office may appoint candidates to positions different from what they have applied for to suit its operational needs. Candidates applying for Research Associate are expected to have higher degrees and more experience.
Appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one year.
