Research Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 503509) (to commence on July 1, 2021 for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should be current Year 4 undergraduate students or graduating master students. They should have already obtained their undergraduate degrees in any disciplines by the end of June 2021. They should also have strong interest in conducting research about the economies in the Greater Bay Area. They should enjoy learning state-of-the-art statistical and programming techniques for empirical research, and be proficient in Chinese and in using at least one of the statistical programming software, e.g., Stata, R, Python. Previous research experience in natural language processing would be an advantage.
The appointee will work on multiple academic and policy research projects related to the current economic issues in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area (e.g., future of Hong Kong’s economy, science and technology policy in the Greater Bay Area and the reorganization of global supply chains in Asia Pacific). He/She will also help promote and organize events at the Hong Kong Institute of Economic and Business Strategy (HIEBS). Enquiries about the post should be sent to Professor H.
