Research Assistant I/II in the HKU Pasteur Research Pole of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 502371) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in medical sciences, immunology, virology or related disciplines, with an established level of laboratory experience. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and a strong sense of responsibility. They should be attentive to details and able to work independently. Knowledge of tissue culture, serological assays and flow cytometry would be an advantage. Experience in human blood processing and small animal handling is highly preferred.
The appointee will assist in routine blood processing for a longitudinal randomized clinical trial, and conduct independent serological and virological experiments related to influenza and SARS-CoV-2. He/She will provide technical support in the laboratory, manage inventory records, and perform day-to-day administrative and other duties as assigned.
