Project Co-ordinator II(s)

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences (DOVS), working with more than 200 ophthalmologists and visual scientists in Hong Kong and mainland China, is committed to advancing patient services, research, and training and education to the highest quality in all major areas of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. We are also dedicated to worthwhile community programmes and public education projects. DOVS, always %26ldquo;in search of excellence%26rdquo;, is looking for candidates to take up positions in our clinical and research (academic, community and translational) programmes involving ophthalmic investigations, public education, out-reach, and ophthalmic studies on disease entities, including COVID-19, children eye diseases autoimmune diseases, ocular surface diseases, refractive errors, ocular cancers, dry eye disease, thyroid eye diseases, glaucoma, and retina diseases. We are highly committed to supporting career development of all staff members. 
The appointee(s) will provide assistance in the operations and finance, organise and co-ordinate the workshops and training programmes to be held on weekday evenings, Saturdays or Sundays, and manage the financing and finances of the CUHK Jockey Club Ophthalmic Microsurgical Training Programme. Duties include (a) co-ordinating training activities for all local trainees from the Hospital Authority, practising ophthalmologists and non-local trainees; (b) communicating with key stakeholders, such as Hospital Authority, the College of Ophthalmologists of Hong Kong, industrial partners and other partnerships; (c) drafting policies and protocols to ensure optimal and safe operations within the simulation centre, so that the centre is up to (and exceed) the standard for future accreditation; (d) providing support to outreach efforts as well as new initiatives aimed for the sustainable development of the centre; (e) providing assistance in preparing annual budget; and (f) providing general secretarial support to committees and meetings. 
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor%26rsquo;s degree; (ii) at least 3 years%26rsquo; post-qualification full-time work experience; (iii) excellent communication and interpersonal skills; (iv) excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; (v) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; and (vi) the ability to work independently and under pressure, multitask and meet tight deadlines. 
Appointment will initially be on a 1-year contract, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
