Project Assistant II

The appointee will be responsible for (a) providing administrative support in the areas of College&rsquos promotion, donor relations and alumni affairs (b) providing support to College&rsquos events (c) handling enquiries (d) liaising with internal and external parties for activities (e) assisting in database management, including data entry, verification and maintenance of alumni, donor and donation records and (f) performing other tasks as assigned. Irregular working hours (including evenings, weekends and holidays) will be required occasionally.

Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B) OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, &ldquoAttained or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects (iii) fast and accurate typing skill (iv) at least 2 years clerical experience (relevant work experience in the tertiary education field will be advantageous) (v) a good command of English and Chinese (including fluency in Putonghua) (vi) good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (vii) good communication skills and telephone manners and (viii) a meticulous mind and attentiveness to details (including figures). Shortlisted candidates will be required to sit for a computer skill test.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a public research university in Shatin, Hong Kong, formally established in 1963 by a charter granted by the Legislative Council of Hong Kong. It is the territory's second-oldest university and was founded as a federation of three existing colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College and United College – the oldest of which was founded in 1949.
CUHK is organized into nine constituent colleges and eight academic faculties, and remains the only collegiate university in the territory. The university operates in both English and Chinese, although classes in most colleges are taught in English.
