The Position
  • Coordinate site resources for Process Safety activities and dotted line accountability to Operations / Engineering / SHE leadership within the site Use fact based, structured decision-making process to initiate and support appropriate actions
  • Coach site level people to enhance competence development of Process Safety skills
  • Process Safety review for projects at the design stage (e.g. Hazop / PSA)
  • Provide technical support and make difficult technical decisions in Process Safety area within site
  • Represent site as process safety expert for attending regional Process Safety platform meetings / BG Process Safety meetings and accountable for rolling out the Process Safety systems, tools, metrics, training, standards within site.
  • Competent in use of / training for use of Process Safety tools, work process, standards (e.g.: Lead / facilitate Hazops, RCI Process Safety incident investigation, audit requirements, Gap Assessments, etc.)
  • Provide technical support for line managers in SHE aspects, such as advising on SHE training needs/programs at plant SHE level Join SHE audits, inspections and meetings Consult in the SHE studies and incident reporting & investigation Member of MoC risk assessment team, etc. to ensure enough SHE knowledge within the assigned areas.
  • Advise and challenge line managers in translating Corporate/site SHE requirements into operational controls within their responsible areas
  • Support line managers/supervisors to ensure operational controls are in place and review effectiveness of controls
  • Promote and support the right management style, attitude and approach of first line manager for a safety working environment

The Ideal
  • University degree major in chemical, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering or related subjects
  • Knowledge of and experience in other relevant disciplines:
  • Minimum 3 years broad experience in the chemical or other related industry on production or engineering
  • 2-3 years multinational experience on Process Safety
  • Managerial and social knowledge and experience:
  • Good communication and social skills
