• To plan, direct & control all aspects of operations for air freight, ocean freight and sea/air freight • To plan, organize, implement and control operational policies and procedures to ensure timely and cost-effective accomplishment of country/station goals and objectives • Assist in project management, business planning, service improvements & strategy development with the objective to provide leadership for the work group, exceed service commitments & customer satisfaction, generate revenues and achieve long-term profitability • Manage all other related activities to provide best possible service to customers and keep the Purple Promise
  • Select, train, develop, motivate and monitor performance of direct reports and develop a succession plan in order to achieve the functional and departmental objectives
  • Set the operations strategy and create short term & long term plans for operational needs
  • Establish and manage the operations structure
  • Develop effective communication channels, supervise the Ops and CS teams in resolving conflicts and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Apply consistent administration of disciplinary procedures
  • Choose and monitor performance of subcontractors/vendors, negotiate vendor/subcontractor contracts
  • Co-ordinate with Sales and Business development teams on quotations and bids submission
  • Maximize shipping revenues and minimize shipping expenses to achieve optimum profitability
  • Submit budget, forecasts, reports and analysis as requested
  • Review productivity reports, operational data & performance trends; identify, design, recommend & drive the implementation of leadership, service, technology and/or cost-saving improvements
  • Ensure compliance with system allocation policy and processes to meet sales and operational service requirements

Academic:
  • Degree holder in transport / logistics studies or equivalent
    Experience & knowledge:
  • Minimum 10 years professional experience in forwarding / logistics service
  • Solid background in all areas of Air Freight and/or Ocean Freight operations
  • 5 years relevant management / supervisory experience
  • Excellent local and international market knowledge and carrier relationship
  • Project management & resource planning experience
  • Good command of written and spoken English, Mandarin and local language
