Job Summary
This role is expected to manage risk analysts in the implementation and completion of Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), including key control effectiveness testing (KCT), and Change Risk Assessment activities on a day to day basis. This includes the identification, measurement, assessment, monitoring, control and reporting of key risks and controls inherent in the processes, products, functions, and systems which the business owners are accountable for.
Role and Responsibilities
In terms of RCSA:
Implementation of risk and control self-assessment standards and establishment of overall operating and engagement model that includes identified risk and control assessment methodologies, sampling requirements, treatment of exceptions and reporting. Establishes and manages overall control assessment calendar for in-scope processes and key risks as per agreed timelines and risk management standards. This includes testing allocation for control analysts to ensure proper distribution, guidance, and oversight. In coordination with Line 2, establishes and manages overall control assessment calendar for in-scope processes and key risks as per agreed timelines and risk management standards. This includes testing allocation for control analysts to ensure proper distribution, guidance, and oversight. Helps in establishing the control effectiveness criteria for both design and operating effectiveness, help Line 1 in the performance of control effectiveness, and record/report results of controls effectiveness test to subsequently feed into the risk profile of the process. Provides a comprehensive reporting of the RCSA results, mitigation plans and residual risks to the leadership teams and stakeholders to ensure management, traction, 2nd line of defense review, closure, and oversight. Proactively support Line 1 in understanding, assessing, and managing risk inherent in the business, and in accordance with the risk appetite statement. Participates in Divisional/Segment risk assessments to understand the results of risk assessments, including control assessments, and risk remediations. Promotes a culture that encourages operational risk awareness and proactive identification of operational risks.
In terms of Transformation Risk:
Identifies and assesses project and organizational initiatives’ delivery and delivered risks throughout the project lifecycle. This includes providing a comprehensive risk assessment to enable a risk based managerial decision. Establishes and determines overall risk engagement model on delivery and delivered risk reviews, reporting and project risk opinions on locally owned projects and continuous improvement initiatives.  Develops risk review templates to ensure business risk profiles, risk and control taxonomies are consistently considered in driving and implementing change management across businesses. Ensures proper risk reviews on delivery and delivered risk impact to risk profiles on critical projects and initiatives are in place to enable risk-based management decisions on implementation.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Business, Information Technology, Accountancy, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience in Financial Services or insurance industry with at least 5 years of experience in Risk Management either as 1b or 2nd line roles.
  • Proficient in Archer GRC is preferred.
  • Self-starter and can work independently, and at the same time a good contributor to team efforts.
  • Sound methodological experience in assessing operational risks and project risk assessment.
  • Excellent people leadership ability with passion for driving teams towards high performance.
  • Execution-oriented with strong focus to deliver targeted outcomes.
  • Assesses possible solutions using deep process and technical experience and uses judgement in handling escalated exceptions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across cultures. Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal skills, and executive presence
  • Flexible on shift to meet business deadlines.
