Job Summary
The role is accountable for IT Delivery Center Finance Controllership within Manulife Business Processing Services ('MBPS') and for the maintenance of trust with our customers.
Overview
MBPS is officially registered as Manulife Data Services, Inc. but with an official trade name of Manulife Business Processing Services. MBPS is a Global Shared Service Centre providing Operations Administration, Finance & Investments, Contact Center, Claims, New Business and Underwriting, Actuarial, Legal & Compliance and Digital Information Services to Manulife Companies around the world. MBPS is headquartered in Quezon City, Philippines. MBPS has approximately 4,600+ employees across Manila, Cebu, and Chengdu (China).
We are a Global Shared Service Center for Investments and Finance consisting of highly motivated and experienced professionals committed to excellence in customer service. Our customers include Business Units across the group in Investment Division and/or Finance Functions. MBPS Investment and Finance has approximately 420+ FTEs across Manila and Cebu.
Role and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to Finance Team Leader, the Invoicing Analyst is primarily accountable for the end to end invoicing operations through timely and accurate service delivery. Responsibilities include the following:
  • Invoicing Operations

- Monitor, report and analyze project recoverability including resource chargeability based on set guidelines
  • Monitor, report and analyze ageing receivables, collections, and payments
  • Maintain reports related to client invoicing
  • Review of costing stipulations in Statements of Work based on set guidelines
  • Project Accounting
  • Ensure charge-out or billing based on established charge-out model or approach
  • Prepare and facilitate client cost accruals based on signed statements of work or PlanView details as deemed applicable and liaise
  • Partner with Strategic PMO and Finance Controller on key reports and alignment on accounting policies and issues
  • Actively seek and execute opportunities to improve existing project accounting processes through automation or other means
  • Work with Controllers on month-end closing activities as deemed necessary

Qualifications
  • University Business Degree and/or recognized accounting designation CPA preferred Fresh graduates or professionals with 1 to 2 years of work experience are welcome.
  • General understanding of accounting principles applied in a business environment
  • Intermediate Excel skills and basic understanding or experience in project management
  • Strong oral/written communication skills required to interact with clients and representatives from other business units or other departments
  • Able and willing to work in Quezon City post pandemic and as per business requirement
  • With 10% travel requirement to Makati City Office or on a per-need-basis.

  • Basic relationship management skills to build enduring and productive alliances across matrix organizations. Experience in partnering with a diverse team located in multiple locations and time zones.

  • Strong oral/written communication skills required to interact with clients and representatives from other business units or other departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to be flexible to changing environments
  • Ability to work independently and willing to collaborate with other teams for a project with huge scale benefits
  • Flexible on shift and overtime may be required to meet business deadlines.
