Job Description

  • Lead simulation projects to facilitate verifying new and improving existing material flows throughout the factory. The scope includes material arrival at docks, storages, delivery to line-side locations, and material transport between internal manufacturing lines etc.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to effectively communicate simulation project objectives, scope, assumptions, input data, and results expected.
  • Based on defined simulation objectives, use sound logical thinking and programming skills to construct valid simulation models to support data-driven logistics process or system design and optimization.
  • The common objectives include:
    • Increase reliability of logistics planning
    • Improvement of logistics operation efficiency
    • Verify the effectiveness of logistics automation proposal
    • Optimize space utilization
    • Propose improvement recommendations based on simulation output
  • Analyze and interpret simulation results. Apply statistical data analyses to draw logistics system performance conclusions, and make performance improvement recommendations.
  • Deliver simulation conclusions in a clear and concise manner, including but not limited to sensibility analysis and design option comparisons to facilitate logistics decision making.
  • Train internal colleagues to enhance their awareness of involving simulation in the new process and improvement decision makings.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree (or above) in Industrial Engineering, Logistics Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • 3-6+ years of practical simulation modeling experience in the manufacturing environment.
  • Have extensive logistics planning experience.
  • Extensive experience with FlexSim and its scripting language. Knowledge of one or more simulation software is a plus.
  • Extensive logistics planning experience.
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex logistics process concepts and reflect them in virtual simulation models.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical data analysis and data fitting using Minitab or equivalent statistical analysis software.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills. Ability to manage several simulation projects at the same time with high degrees of variation and uncertainty.
  • Natural ability to speak and write effectively at all organizational levels.
  • A passion to work in a fast-paced environment and efficiently deliver effective results.
  • Position will offer unique and complex engineering challenges that require persistence, innovative thinking and a positive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Logistics Engineering
