Job Description

This is a position with high visibility and exposure to Global and China senior management, and is a key contributor to the definition of the Sanofi China strategy. The candidate needs to be a mature and experienced team leader, and flexible enough to take on multiple roles including project owner, cross-functional joint team leader, business partner and effective communicator. This position is also considered as incubator of potential talent for various BUs/Functions roles in Sanofi China and Global with proven performance and demonstrated experiece over certain period of time
Reporting to Greater China Strategy & BD Head
Two subordinates
  • Support GBU&China Management Team to frame and articulate aspirations and strategic choices for China affiliate, provide strategic recommendations with detailed contents through in-depth analysis, internal and external studies, etc. Support management team with strategic decision making process
  • Take top-down ideas from ExCom, and, in collaboration with the China Management team, develop them into concrete strategic initiatives
  • Keep up to date with the external China healthcare environment and dynamic changes, help management teams connect the dots and refine the strategy where necessary
  • Coordinate and influence across global and local key stakeholders to achieve alignment on China strategic aspirations, priorities and actions.
  • Work closely with commercial, R&D, and functional teams on major strategic topics, support BU and function Strategy shaping, provide inputs to the strategy plan
  • Translate Corporate and BU strategy into actionable implementation plan, lead effective execution of the strategy to drive real business impact
  • Facilitate and participate China affiliate & BU strategy and business reviews as Strategy partner
  • Proactively challenge status quo and act for changes, leading strategic transformations as source of innovations
  • Strong strategic agility, ability to think analytically and independently, synthesizing information and connecting the dots quickly and logically
  • Strong leadership skills. Coach and develop members of the China Strategy team.
  • Collaborate transversally with Strategy Leaders and team members and other global functions on different strategy topics
  • High level of emotional intelligence, excellenct communication, interpersonal and presentation skills. Confident to present strategic topics to GBU and China management teams.
  • Ability to operatie in and be comfortable with ambiguity.

Language skills:
  • Strong communication skills in presenting and communicating strategic topics with senior management in English and Chinese be able to effectively influence senior leaders

  • Bachelor or above, MBA / PH.D a plus

Experience & knowledge:
  • Post-B.A. with 8+ years working experience in a consulting firm or/and corporate strategy related functions
  • Rich experiences in pharmaceutical industry strong exposure to China environment.
  • Proven experiences and well trained skills in strategy development, project management, PMO, financial modeling, PPT presentations (to management team)
