General Clerk II(s)

The appointee(s) will work under the Business Unit of Finance Office. He/She will support the administration of University tendering and procurement compliance. Duties include (a) vetting procurement documents for procurement compliance; (b) following up with procurement requester department/unit as deemed appropriate; (c) issuing Direct/Purchase Orders; (d) providing full set of administrative tasks on Requests for Quotations (RFQ) and tendering, such as checking for compliance of RFQ and tender documents in the procurement procedures, sending out RFQ and tender documents, opening of RFQ and tender, and preparing offer/reject letters; (e) providing support to the administration of centralised tenders; and (f) performing other tasks as assigned by supervisors. 
Applicants should have (i) completed secondary education; (ii) Grade E/Level 2 or above in at least 5 subjects in HKCEE, including Chinese and English (Syllabus B); OR any combination of results in at least 5 HKDSE subjects (including Level 2 or above in Chinese and English): Level 2 or above in NSS subjects, %26ldquo;Attained%26rdquo; or above in ApL subjects (subject to a maximum of 2 subjects), and Grade E or above in Other Language subjects; (iii) fast and accurate English and Chinese typing skill; (iv) the ability to work independently and under pressure; (v) a strong sense of responsibility and self-motivation; (vi) good interpersonal and communication skills; (vii) at least 5 years%26rsquo; work experience; (viii) a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua); and (ix) knowledge of PC operations and familiarity with MS Word and Excel. Experience in procurement and tendering will be advantageous.

Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
