Amazon Global Sourcing for Hardlines Private Brands seeks a Financial Analyst to support the scaling of our high-growth Private Brands businesses. This is a high exposure opportunity that requires strong financial leadership and partnership with multiple business teams. The Financial Analyst will own all aspects of developing and reviewing metrics with business leadership as well as collaborate across Amazon to ensure successful launches of new brands and products.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong business partnership experience and proven abilities to manage complex projects and effectively dive deep into the details when needed. This person will partner with leaders across several teams including product managers, sourcing managers, supply chain partners, operation teams, and marketing teams to provide strategic guidance, tactical direction, and decision support.
Primary responsibilities:
· Perform financial reporting, ad-hoc project analyses, and financial modeling using a broad range of tools including Excel and Tableau
· Complete complex business modeling and analysis to drive profit growth, identify operating improvements, deep dive on cost structures and analyze business opportunities/investments (ROI/NPV)
· Facilitate financial review meetings with business groups and work with business managers to ensure effective finance and cost management
· Perform root cause analysis and uncovering core issues using data, then assisting the Hardlines Private Brands Business Team improve and create new measures for financial performance
· Recommend, develop, and implement policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and profitability
· Work with data source providers and technology teams to ensure that key decision data is accurate, automated and timely
Basic Qualifications :
· BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business and/or similar discipline with analytical bias
· Minimum 5 years of finance experience, or master's degree and 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications :
· Demonstrated financial acumen and/or analytical experience including familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and/or data interpretation and analysis
· 5+ years of experience performing financial and ad hoc analysis using data reporting tools
· Advanced knowledge of Excel and SQL
· Measured experience demonstrating problem solving and root cause analysis
· Highly analytical, detail oriented and strong business sense; proven ability to develop new ideas, creative solutions and demonstrated experience implementing such mechanisms to result
· Ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, ever-growing and often ambiguous environment; effective multi-tasking skills are vital
· Demonstrated effective communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and levels of management
· Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. Tableau, SQL, MSAccess, Essbase and/or Cognos) and providing recommendations based on results of ad hoc analyses to management for strategic decision-making
· Experience building models for business forecasting, variance analysis, and problem solving
· Advanced analytical skills and an ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
· Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills
· The ideal candidate will be comfortable with large volumes of complex data and presenting their findings to senior management
· MBA preferred
