Job Description

Our client, a famous local art authority is looking for an Editor, Digital Content (English) to assist the museum projects.
  • working with product stakeholders and peer teams to deliver strategically sound, high-impact digital products;
  • shaping the museum’s online voice, determining message hierarchies, and ensuring a consistent message across the museum’s multiple digital touchpoints;
  • creating and maintaining voice, tone, and style guidelines for the M+ website;
  • assisting in various stages of the product’s development process—from discovery to production and implementation—and developing content templates and briefs;
  • crafting user-friendly content that provide a seamless experience across various M+ digital products, including the M+ website, digital signage, and other visitor-facing digital products.
  • working with content stakeholders across M+ and WKCDA to understand their needs, and ensuring their needs are met while developing copy variations within the museum’s voice and tone;
  • fostering relationship with teams and raising broader awareness of best digital copywriting practices that support design efforts;
  • editing, fact-checking, and proofreading online text and UX-driven copy to ensure the museum’s web content is accessible, and aligned with M+ style;
  • developing a comprehensive content strategy and roadmap with web content team and managing the editorial calendar to prioritize effectively and anticipate and resolve risks, obstacles, and timing issues;
  • occasionally helping the larger content team to edit web posts and essays about subjects related to M+, such as M+ Collection objects, Hong Kong visual culture, and behind-the-scenes museological activities; and
  • contributing to big-picture strategies that will drive the long-term development of M+, a museum of visual culture based in Hong Kong with a global vision.

  • possess a recognised university degree or equivalent;
  • have at least 3-5 years of experience in digital journalism, digital media / communications, or digital digital marketing;
  • be a native English speaker or equivalent, and be able to write and edit in English to the highest level;
  • preferably have knowledge of Cantonese or Putonghua;
  • be extremely organised, with close attention to detail;
  • have strong people skills, and be able to work well with a variety of personalities;
  • be conversant in social media and social media best practices;
  • have experience in publishing web content on CMS platforms;
  • have an interest in exploring new ways to tell stories and engage audiences, for instance with emerging platforms such as Instagram Stories; and
  • have an interest in visual-culture topics such as design, architecture, art, or moving image.
