Position Summary
  • The Director of Corporate Marketing & Communications - Asia Pacific is responsible for the marketing communications strategy across the region, with the overall goal to drive brand preference, and protect brand reputation for Hyatt.
  • The positionwill spearhead all corporate, owner and colleague communication efforts in the region, working in close alignment with Hyatt's global corporate marketing communications strategy.
  • The key responsibilities will include Hyatt Corporate Brand Marketing, Crisis Communications & Issues Management, and Media Relations while activating our positioning on key areas such as Inclusion & Diversity, Wellbeing and ESG. The role also supports the development team to effectively engage with, and market to, our owner community through key pieces of communication such as the quarterly Owners Newsletter and industry conferences.
  • As a key member of Hyatt's regional Commercial Services team and a trusted partner for the regional leadership team, the role will require close collaboration with leaders of key functions across the organization, including Development, Operations, Human Resources, Design Services and all other Commercial functions.

  • Lead all corporate marketing communications efforts in the region by understanding regional business insights, mining relevant story angles and crafting compelling narratives that resonate with key stakeholders - namely media, owners, colleagues, corporate customers and guests.
  • Oversee executive visibility for key members of the regional and global leadership team, across media interviews, media conferences and industry conferences. Oversee the development of messaging documents and all briefing materials.
  • Lead all colleague communications and marketing through online and offline activations, by working in close alignment with the regional Human Resources teams. This includes internal campaigns to raise awareness for the company's strategic priorities and programs that are rooted in Hyatt's culture of care.
  • Support strategic communications for internal events such as global and regional town halls, or strategic updates for regional AVPS and GMs.
  • Spearhead corporate marketing programs to position Hyatt as a preferred brand (both consumers and B2B) by generating brand awareness with the right target groups. This includes new offerings from Hyatt that spans all brands such as new F&B and event initiatives.
  • Lead all owner communications and marketing programs designed to drive preference for Hyatt among developers and potential developers, through key communication platforms such as the quarterly owner newsletter, development conferences, speaking opportunities and LinkedIn.
  • Partner with the development team on new signings by working closely with ownership groups for media announcements and signing events.
  • Lead all corporate crisis and issues management in Asia Pacific and serve as a guardian of Hyatt's brand reputation in the region. Act as a first responder for all crisis and issues occurring at a regional and hotel level. Provide counselling to hotel General Managers and other senior leadership members when special situations occur.
  • Act as spokesperson for the company on designated corporate issues/positions, and in response to media inquiries.
  • Leverage internal and external resources (corporate PR and creative agencies) to maximize productivity, results and message consistency.
  • Develop relationships and maintain active contact with local/regional/national and international press that will benefit Hyatt.
  • Identify current industry and lifestyle trends that create opportunity to position Hyatt as an industry leader and expert resource for news media.
