Job Title: Director, BI&A China/Asia Cluster Lead, (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines & Thailand) Based in Shanghai, China Department Title and Description Business Insights & Analytics (BI&A) Purpose/Objective of the job Develops, defines and implements a vision for the in-country BI&A operating model, in conjunction with key stakeholders and the BI&A Intercon Leadership Team Fosters a culture of data-enabled decision making through leading a team of BI&A professionals who synthes various data sources to generate and embed insights Provides enterprise-/portfolio-level perspective on the country business opportunities and risks in close partnership with the country Commercialization leadership team and matrix partners Drives / supports future commercialization strategy by identifying, building and deploying advanced forecast models Ensures the highest quality research and analytics, leveraging cross-country learnings as well as vendor capabilities & innovations Key Responsibilities and Major Duties As Regional & Country Lead Leads by example through championing the notion of independence, objectivity and integrity when delivering insights and analytics to stakeholders Represents market BI&A team as a single point at Cluster Head/GM's LT level when required, including budgets, business reviews, refreshes and projections Builds relationships and effectively influences all senior management market stakeholders (GMs, BUDs, and appropriate Leads for Marketing & Sales, Finance, Medical, Strategy & Operations) to advance the culture of data-enabled decision making Has a strong ability to explain complex dynamics using a simplified synthesis of multiple data sources As Team Leader Manages cross-function and cross-brand analytics and market research workload prioritization and FTE resourcing anticipates changes in the horizon and takes appropriate capacity utilization action Drives full, seamless integration of teams to create consistency in quality of deliverables across all functions Ensures right level of budget is secured (data, market research, ad hoc analytics) and manages expenses against approved budget Leverages the onshore/offshore contractor / consultant and HQ capability teams to successfully achieve business objectives Has strong experience developing and coaching internal talent as well as pipelining external talent to sustain a high caliber team Embeds a OneTeam culture rooted in BMS values: inclusion, integrity, passion, accountability, urgency, and innovation ESA & CP Capabilities Provides leadership and oversight for the evaluation, improvement, and enhancement of in-market functional capabilities related to forecasting, sales/marketing analytics and market research, including support of data strategy and procurement of innovative data sources Applies global standards, models, and templates to drive high quality deliverables Proactively looks for opportunities to integrate data from multiple sources to develop richer, insightful and actionable recommendations Leads the development and deployment of innovative BI&A approaches, custom analytics, therapeutic area learnings and forecasting best practices Shares best practices with and learns from other markets for efficient adoption of learnings and capabilities (Disclaimer: The responsibilities listed above are only a summary and other responsibilities will be requirements as assigned) Supervisory Responsibility (List job titles of positions that report directly or indirectly to this position and indicate nature of relationship) Leading a direct and matrix team of 15+ team members comprising of BMS employees as well as contractors and consultants in areas including but not limited to Forecasting, Market Research & Analytics and Sales Force Effectiveness (mix of onsite and offshore) Key Stakeholders/Contacts - describe this position's key internal matrix relationships and key external stakeholders/clients BI&A Leadership Team China & Asia Cluster General Managers Country Brand Teams & Operations Lead(s) (BUDs, BEPs/BOs, Marketing, Sales, Medical teams etc.), Country Finance WWCO (MCM, MC Hub), WW Commercial Off-shore Analytics Delivery Center resources Around the world, we are passionate about making an impact on the lives of patients with serious diseases.
