Data Project Manager

The Data Office of Hang Seng is in a relatively new but important function, whereby it drives the data strategy to ensure
  • Data are managed and controlled

  • data becomes a key asset to the bank

  • the bank moves to a data driven organization

  • regulatory demands on data are satisfied

The data project manager is responsible to drive data project initiatives to ensure timeliness, quality, and cost of project delivery; in addition, during the implementation, the data project manager must ensure data quality and governance principles to be applied.
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as Data Project Manager.
Principal responsibilities
  • Assist the HASE CDO to lead and support data strategy initiatives in the bank

  • Partner closely with all stakeholders of the bank (IT, Business, Functions) to align directive and deliverable

  • Understand business process and requirements to ensure deliverables are meets the scope

  • Perform business analysis and be able to propose / recommend solutions

  • Act as a single point of contact for the responsible projects and initiatives

  • Arbitrating the CDO community for the implementation of project deliverables

  • Throughout the lifecycle of the project, the project manager will also be responsible for enforce data principles to the stakeholders /subject matter experts / BAU, thus promoting the driving the data culture
  • Background / qualifications in business process re-engineering
  • 5-7 years in project management / business analysis / change management expertise
  • Have good understand of data management principles / operational control framework
  • Attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
  • Awareness on data management trends within the banking industry: BCBS 239, General data protection regulation, business analytics etc.
  • Strong presentation skills: facilitate steering committee and good stakeholders management as the role will face across all different levels of management in the bank
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact and build relationship with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • University degree in related disciplines
  • High level of customer centricity mindset with dedication to deliver exceptional quality services for customers, thru data
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes
