About Our Client:
Our Client is a Non-Profit Organization and has a significantly long and meaningful history, committed to sustainable growth. Due to recent trends in the market, they are currently looking for an experienced Compliance Manager (Environmental & Sustainability) in helping internal business units with complex matters by identifying risks and complications.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Legal & Compliance Director, you will lead and train the compliance team in implementing and putting compliance programs in smooth operation in the identified compliance areas; i.e. environmental impact assessment, occupational health & safety, fire safety management and animal disease control). You will ensure relevant legal and regulatory compliance exposures are identified, communicated and appropriately managed and mitigated by business. You will provide compliance advice to the different stakeholders to support their business activities and/or new initiatives in complying with applicable legal & regulatory compliance requirements. You will also include processes, procedures and necessary internal controls to mitigate non-compliance with relevant obligations.
Other responsibilities includes:
• Identify compliance matters and issues for management’s attention and conduct gap analysis, if necessary
• Provide regular reports on any issues and areas of improvement identified in the related compliance areas and provide recommendations on addressing compliance issues
• Monitor status of mitigation plans when compliance issues are identified so that compliance issues can be resolved promptly
• Implement compliance training programs and conduct compliance trainings
• Monitor and analyze any updates, new laws and regulations applicable to the business and liaise with stakeholders to review and support them to, where necessary, revise their processes and procedures to ensure compliance with such requirements
Candidate Profile:
You must have a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience in Compliance; experience in large corporations and/or consultancy is highly advantageous. You must possess solid experience in gap analysis, issue spotting, and compliance reporting with experience in implementing compliance programs. You should also possess strong commercial acumen, organized & analytical with the ability to manage mid-large projects well. You must be fluent in both written and spoken English & Mandarin and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work at all levels.
