Job Purpose and Impact

The Crop Analyst I will be responsible for conducting basic trading analytics efforts. In this role, you will conduct analysis of markets and other economic considerations. You will participate in the development and deployment of models, tools and processes to equip the team to make trading, risk management, margin enhancement and asset utilization decisions.

Key Accountabilities

  • Collaborate and support other analysts and team members to deliver analysis that maximizes business competitive advantage.
  • Assist with best in class global crop supply analytics efforts.
  • Help ensure regional supply forecasting efforts align with global objectives with guidance from manager and more senior team members.
  • Ensure that crop supply analytics message is heard and understood globally.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to speed, accuracy, and communication of confidence intervals for crop forecasts.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master of Science or Bachelor degree in Agronomy, Agronomics, Plant Science, Ecology or similar field
  • Rational & Curiosity mindset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Can deal with ambiguity, and have passion to figure things out in a positive way
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Agronomy, Agronomics, Plant Science, Ecology or similar fields with relevant working experience
  • Advanced statistical modelling skills
  • Strong data management skills
