Your ‘day to day
You will be based in our Hong Kong office and will support business expansion and innovation for PMI Duty Free business in Asia through in-depth analysis of potential growth opportunities together with effective portfolio and commercial planning of initiatives to ensure timely and effective execution. This is achieved through:
1) Business Analysis
a. Responsible for Competition analysis (Channel / Account based Investments, Organization Set-Up, Portfolio Positioning & Pricing Activities) for the BU
b. Responsible for Consumer trend analysis for the BU
c. Responsible for Channel analysis (Overall channel based segment / portfolio trends within different geographies
d. Analysis of total channel business value and contribution of PMIDF & other TMOs) for the BU
e. Responsible for Industry analysis (Multicategory Trends Follow Up, Account Based overall Financials / P&L / Performance analysis, Follow up activities of regional / global duty free associations, Follow up of regulatory developments etc.) for the BU
2) Portfolio Planning:
a. Collects and aggregates portfolio initiatives and supports in the consolidation as part of an integral Portfolio Plan for the BU based on the overall annual volume, SoM and profitability objectives
b. On limited cases and with the approval of HO Strategy & Portfolio, plan for new local portfolio projects such as limited pack editions, line extensions, etc.
c. Assist Customer Development for location based segment assessment (i.e. Price, Taste, Diameter, etc.) within the category and definition of local and tactical portfolio initiatives
d. Build a project plan by location including retro planning for portfolio activities. Report post launch evaluation
3) Commercial Planning:
a. Proposes a Calendar of Commercial initiatives for the BU based on PMIDF's global commercial calendar and BU business priorities
b. Monitors the net operating revenue drivers (volume, price, mix effects) and the progress of trade terms for key accounts
c. Performs post activity and ROI assessments
d. Supports Commercial Planning Head:
i. In building an activity calendar by location applying PMIDF commercial initiatives to local conditions
ii. In building strategy for local needs defining scope and requirements for local commercial initiatives
iii. In the creation of a Business Case for every commercial initiative
e. Follow up and ensure proper closing of budget, provide required information to Finance for accrual process
4) Project Management
a. Training BU teams on project management methodologies to ensure projects are managed according to project management principles and practices. Ensuring proper use of project management tools and methodologies
Who we're looking for
. University degree in quantitative fields: Pure/Applied sciences, Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business or equivalent
. Around 5 years of experience of combined experience in Business Development and Commercial roles at consulting or FMCG multinational company
. Fluency in English required.
. Good business acumen, strategic thinking, financial savvy, project management are key.
. Solid understanding of key marketing and commercial competencies like activity resource planning, and portfolio/product knowledge.
. Project Management is a key competency.
