Job Description Summary
The Ombuds Investigations, Monitoring and Assurance (OIMA) Leader-China Region is responsible for developing and executing an overall strategy and framework for investigations, monitoring and assurance activities for designated regions and P&Ls within GE Healthcare. This individual will lead a team that will execute deliverables on a global basis, with primary responsibility for the China geographic region. This individual is responsible for monitoring and auditing the design and effectiveness of a range of compliance policies, procedures and controls.

Primary responsibilities:
  • People leadership: Lead and manage a team executing OIMA activities across designated geographies. Support similar activities in other geographies, as needed. Develop a team that is capable of flexing across multiple priority areas.
  • Ombuds investigations: Ensure (1) the prompt investigation of policy concerns raised through the Ombuds / open reporting system (evidenced by well documented reports and corrective actions plans where relevant) (2) the identification of relevant open reporting trends and (3) appropriate communication with key stakeholders regarding important trends or developments in such investigations
  • Non-ombuds investigations: (1) As needed, support investigation activities being led by the Global Chief Litigation Counsel which are being investigated outside of the standard Ombuds / open reporting environment and (2) ensure appropriate communication with key stakeholders regarding important developments in such investigations.
  • Monitoring & Assurance: Drive (1) timely monitoring and data analytics of risk-prioritized transactions (2) targeted assurance work relating to specific compliance risk areas identified through risk assessments, investigations, and trends observed through monitoring and data analytics and (3) appropriate communication with key stakeholders regarding important trends or developments from such Monitoring & Assurance activities.
  • Corrective Actions: As needed, and in partnership with global and regional compliance and other stakeholders, coordinate and/or execute corrective actions arising from investigations and audit/monitoring findings.
  • Legislative Awareness: Be informed of any new legislation, guidance or changes in the existing legislation that may affect the compliance program
  • Other duties as assigned

This individual must have a proven record of being thorough, fair, and objective with attention to detail, and timely and adapt easily to working in a diverse and multicultural work environment.
  • Bachelor's degree, J.D./master's degree preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of seven years of professional experience in workplace investigations, compliance, law, internal audit, controllership, or related field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership with experience of managing and supporting a globally distributed team.
  • Player/coach who is effective in executing both individual responsibilities and team responsibilities.
  • Word, Power Point and Excel skills are required.
  • Professional fluency in English is required.
  • Foreign language skills a plus.

Desired Characteristics
  • Law degree, post-graduate degree in business or another relevant field, or a financial/controllership background.
  • CAS or other leadership program graduate with audit, monitoring and/or investigations experience.
  • Knowledge of key laws/regulations (e.g., FCPA, AKS) and/or core GEHC compliance processes, policies/procedures, tools, and controls.
  • Lean or Six Sigma experience.
  • Proven ability to digest large amounts of information and distill it into the essential elements.
  • Proven analytical, evaluation and problem-solving skills.
  • Process and detail-oriented, including strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Self-motivated with ability to handle a large and varied caseload simultaneously, to multitask, and to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Highest personal integrity with demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters in a discreet and respectful manner that inspires trust.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with people at various levels of the organization. Proven ability to foster a team capable of flexing and collaborating across an organization.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills, with proven ability to clearly and concisely prepare, present, and discuss findings and recommendations at a senior level and produce clear and compelling report.
  • Ability to interface effectively with senior business and functional leaders throughout the organization.
  • High level of cultural sensitivity, flexibility and emotional intelligence in order to work effectively within a multicultural environment.
