What is the Opportunity
Chief Information Officer (CIO), Hong Kong
As the Hong Kong Chief Information Officer (CIO), you will be the key driver of operating model transformation and digitisation in Hong Kong, promoting bank-wide changes and accelerating the growth of the Bank with alignment to Group technology strategies.  You will be a core member of one of the largest banks in Hong Kong and will be in Hong Kong%26rsquo;s Management Committee, where you will be working closely with Business units to influence and drive transformation with your technology expertise.  There will also be opportunities to work with innovative start-ups and vendors through SC Ventures, our innovation, ventures and fintech investment platform, to develop partnerships and rewire the DNA in banking.  With a leading role in one of the key markets in Asia, there are also great opportunities to work with other countries across Asia to create further synergies as an international bank.
What will you do
You will:

  • Provide technology thought leadership and engage key stakeholders (including Group, Regional CIO and Country CEO) to influence business strategy with the effective deployment of end-to-end technology and transformative solutions.

  • Lead the country Technology %26amp; Innovation function to maintain the Bank%26rsquo;s Technology infrastructure capability, supporting the business activities across the Business segments; influence and drive the future technology agenda for Hong Kong in alignment with Group Technology strategy, orchestrating seamless support from all technology players to ensure delivery of the best technology solutions in time, within budget, with least risks and highest service continuity.

  • Lead and drive operating model transformation and strategic initiatives e.g. Core Banking Refresh.

  • Work with relevant stakeholders to enhance client experience and provide changes and introduction of new technologies and innovation to enhance revenue potential.

  • Lead through example and build the appropriate engineering culture and values.  Set appropriate tone and expectations for the team and work in collaboration with our second line partners providing governance and control.  Contribute to employee engagement, talent development and performance management.

What do you need to succeed 

  • Significant relevant experience in managing a big team in banking industry, strong background and expertise in technology (including technology strategy, development, service delivery and operation management).

  • Strong communicator; experienced and able to communicate complex topics in a compelling manner with Business, regulators, internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership qualities, excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity; able to make good and timely decisions that keep the organization and the team moving forward.

  • Able to operate effectively when things are ambiguous and see ahead to future possibilities, translating them into breakthrough strategies.

  • Must possess sharp business acumen (including the ability to maintain and develop the technology capabilities and strategies to meet ongoing business needs and plans).

  • Understand latest market trends in Technology and apply best practice internally.
