Job Description
We are currently searching for a talented and driven individual to join our Global Segfund team. The Business Analyst will be tasked with overseeing key processes/projects of the Global Segfund team’s financial reporting, and look for continuous improvement opportunities and act as a technical, functional or agile resource in the planning and implementation of projects. Responsibilities require little or no supervision. The candidate is required to have strong knowledge of tools and methodologies surrounding Business Analysis.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have ownership of the following accountabilities:
  • Perform monthly data tasks with Microsoft access. These involve manupulating policy data and policy transaction data for further analysis
  • Assist in month-end and quarter-end reporting, eg: reserve booking, template preparation, performing SOX control
  • Transform the data related tasks into Python script
  • Assist in testing Qlikview transformation of our quarter-end deliverables
  • Pick up IFRS17 reporting after routine process is developed.

Minimum Requirement to Hire:
  • Computer Science / Information Technology, Financial / Investments or other relevant post-secondary education preferred
  • MS Excel functions and formulas
  • Knowledgeable in best in class processes, tools and technology as well as the ability to apply practical results oriented approach to accelerate the delivery of solution assessments for execution
  • Understands, documents and questions inputs, outputs, business logic and flow of data and can identify dependencies and connectivity.
  • Able to handle a project end-to-end
  • Must pass current job expectations and meet performance metrics.
  • Has solid and demonstrated understanding of Data Governance and Data Management initiatives

Minimum Experience:
  • At least 2 years of BA or consultant experience with Financial Services or Middle and Back office operations enabling integrated solutions to optimize processes, technology, data etc.
  • Must pass current job expectations and meet performance metrics.
  • Experience in implementing value added solutions to the business

Education:
  • Computer Science / Information Technology, Financial / Investments or other relevant post-secondary education preferred

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent comprehension, analytical and decision making skills
  • Self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills within a matrix organization.
  • Complex stakeholder management

Technical Skills:
  • With strong understanding of MS Office applications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge in SQL, R, Python, and/or Power BI is an advantage
  • LOMA level 1 certification is a plus
