We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Analyst Manager.

TREATS (TREAsury Trading System) is HSBC Global Banking & Markets in-house developed Treasury Cross Function and Cross Product Solution that is currently used in 53 sites across the Globe by an extensive international user community. The TREATS IT team is truly global, with team-members in UK, Hong Kong, India, Canada, Mexico and China (PM's, Scrum Masters, BA's, Developers, QA's). The TREATS Integration Team is responsible for managing projects and performing requirement for business initiatives involving enhancements in TREATS globally. We are now looking for a high caliber professional to join our team.
Responsibilities :
  • Communicate with business to identify needs and translate client requirements into specified project briefs
  • Develop logical and innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Work closely with stakeholders, developers, architects and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders and business contacts
  • Manage activities within project delivery to the business within the agreed timeframes, cost and levels of quality
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal control standards and external regulatory requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of the business practices and system capabilities
  • As a people manager to the GZ BA team, lead the team by example, provide necessary oversight and fit-for-purse training, coaching, mentoring to BA team members, maintain a highly motivated team spirit.
  • Analysis and documentation of functional specifications and acceptance criteria that support a business outcome
  • Acceptance of features implemented by a development team
  • Create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems
  • Work closely with stakeholders, developers, architects and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction
  • Specification and documentation requirements to a standard which would bear scrutiny by an internal audit or external regulators
  • The participation in testing cycles, working with the System Testers to ensure adequate test scripts have been built and run, assisting users with acceptance testing
  • Present proposals to clients
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and business contacts
  • Leading, facilitating and participation in meetings / workshops at the direction of the Programme Manager and/or Project Manager
  • Peer Review of BA team artefacts when required to ensure consistency and quality standards
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars), internal control standards and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behaviour
  • Following the HSBC Risk-Based Project Management methodology, adhering to production of all necessary documentation
  • Manage the BA hiring, attrition and manpower forecasting.
  • Develop and promote continuous training and learning culture with innovation.
  • Empower and encourage BA team members taking more ownership with coaching, mentoring and adequate support.
  • Conduct the daily performance management for BA team members.
  • Lead BA team to participate or take initiative in global TREATS team.
  • The role-holder will be a confident, well-organised, self-starting individual with extensive data analysis and change management experience,
  • They will be able to demonstrate,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable in written and verbal communications) to facilitate with users from around the world and from different cultural backgrounds), relationship management and flexible interpersonal skills,

  • A structured approach to the management and planning of their own work (able to efficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritising appropriately and transparently)

  • A willingness to constructively challenge accepted wisdom ensure focus on the problem to be addressed rather than 'the solution we want',
  • Experienced in working with resources in geographically dispersed teams, appreciating and respecting local cultures,
  • Advanced analysis, requirements elicitation, functional design and problem-solving skills - structured, formal approach to analysis tasks,
  • Able to articulate clearly the project lifecycle and application development process including best practice methodologies and an uncompromising eye for quality,
  • Excellent Global Markets / Investment Banking knowledge across a number of products including FX Metals Fixed Income Futures Swaps
  • Good team management capabilities with proven communication skills, able to manage difficult conversation as well
  • Outstanding leadership skill with demonstration of different leadership styles of mentoring, coaching, empowering.
  • Experiences in staff training at global scale would be a plus.
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Extensive functional and technical business analysis experience (Minimum 5 years+) working at a Tier 1 investment bank
  • Proven, significant and demonstrable experience of analysing and documenting business requirements for global applications
  • Practical experience in functional analysis and design, utilising different methodologies i.e. Use Cases, Business Process Modelling within an Agile Project environment
  • Proven, significant and demonstrable experience of following a structured approach to analysis, including the preparation of all related artefacts (e.g. functional system specifications etc.)
  • Excellent Markets knowledge across a range of products: FX Metals Fixed Income Futures, Swaps
  • Excellent Front to Back (full) Trade Lifecycle knowledge
  • Strong technical written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the project lifecycle and application development process including best practice methodologies
  • Ability to convey requirements to developers in the technical language understood by developers
  • Experience on AS400 systems / RPG /Query 400 is a plus

Additional Experience & Skills:
  • Previous experience of working within both Agile & Traditional development teams
  • Ability to work under pressure to exacting deadlines
  • Experience of working across: geographies, cultures and time zones
  • Flexibility to travel, attend meetings across wide time zones
