Job Description

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and implement the Operational Risk Framework within thebusiness unit to ensure operational risks and controls are being managed appropriately in a proactive, risk based and disciplined manner to meet external, internal and regulatory requirements. Facilitate the business unit to understand and comply with the framework.

  • Ensure adherence to the Operational Risk Framework in the identification,assessment, mitigation and control and monitoring of risk. Ensure sufficient traction andfollow through management actions to mitigate identified operational risks exposure.

  • Collaborate with business unit to perform gap analysis on group driven polices, standards, control registers and regulatory driven requirements, to apply dispensations and develop mitigating controls to bridge the gaps accordingly.

  • Cooperate with Legal, Compliance, Information Cyber Securities, and other Risk Owners and stakeholders to design and implement robust control processes to ensure the business unit is in comply withthe Group policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Address, manage and monitor risk proactively with a forward-looking approach and escalate risk events to Line Manager, Process Owner and / or the relevant Risk Owner as appropriate.

  • Perform and manage residual risk assessments on an annual basis in accordance with the risk governance framework and on event triggering basis for projects, initiatives, process changes, incidents with an aim to ensure risk is properly identified, assessed and accepted with mitigating controls and treatment plans.

  • Investigate complaint cases and operational/risk incidents and work closely with stakeholders and relevant risk owners to ensure root causes/risks/issues and control enhancements are identified/assessed/resolved and implemented in an appropriate and timely manner.

  • Report and monitor operational risks/incidents in the risk tracking system, in accordance with Group Operational Risk Procedures and track to ensure the proper and timely closure.

  • Perform risk analysis and develop related reports or dashboard on a regular or ad-hoc basis for presentation to the Risk Forum/Committee or other purposes.

  • Manage audits and reviews (internal and external, with CPBB as auditee) and the relevant engagements amongst stakeholders.

  • Participate in ad hoc risk related projects and review.

Responsible for implementation, execution and result recording of theControl Sample Testing (CST) processes, sampling and testing the population of controls to ensure compliance with the Group control standardsas well as facilitating the monitoring/collection of any Key Control or Risk Indicators (KCIs / KRIs).

Our Ideal Candidate

  • Degree holder, minimum 7 solid experience in Retail Banking Risk Management and internal/external Audit

  • Solid knowledge of Operational Risk Management, Control & Governance, Risk & Control Self-Assessment, Incident Management and Key Risk Indicators

  • Proficiencies and knowledge in regulatory requirement including Code of Banking Practice, Deposit Protection Scheme, Risk Management of E-Banking, etc

  • Strong analytical skills, risk awareness and control sense

  • Ability to deal with complex issues with good problem solving & process thinking skills

  • Sound knowledge in Digital / Technology function is an advantage

  • Self-motivated with good judgement and able to work well under pressure

  • Good stakeholder management by establishing good working relationships with stakeholders at all levels and to work well in a team

  • Good communication, interpersonal skills and command of written English and Chinese

  • High level of integrity and professionalism

  • High attention to details

  • Candidate with less experience will be considered for a junior position
