The VP for Engineering is fully responsible for the effective management and deployment of the Engineering team to address in a very systematic manner, a dynamic preventive management program in both Guest, heart of House and public spaces throughout the property. It also includes operating procedures and emergency programs for the pro-active maintenance of all equipment and physical structures and landscaping in compliance with corporate / franchise standards, local and national codes and regulations to protect the property, asset, guests and employees.
Is fully accountable and responsible for the upkeep and perfect functionality of all the installed hardware throughout the property which concerns Fire Life and Health Safety be it Fire Detection, Fire Warning , Fire Fighting related. Leads from the front with a sense of urgency when it comes to Fire and Safety.
Develops a synergetic relationship between the Housekeeping and Engineering Department to keep the property well maintained as per laid down standards at all times without exception.
Through effective systems and processes and detailed supervision, all third party contractors and specialists are effectively managed and held accountable for performance and compliance.
Recommends the department’s Operating budget and capital expenditures and manages expenses within the approved budget. Manages the overall Utilities program for the property and devises effective ways and means to keep utility costs within check without compromising on guest comfort and standards in any manner.
Is the point of contact with the Project Management team and liaises with them on matters which relate to the A&A projects. He provides the necessary operational input and manages the projects assigned to him from start to finish and ensuring the task is completed within the stipulated time and budget.
Is a key member of the Crisis Management Committee.
Proposes new systems, technologies, automation solutions and interfaces for better overall property Management.
