Job Title: Sales Manager
Location: Shanghai Downtown

About Client
A top notch foreign manufacturing company dominating their market in liquid petrochemical products. The company is known for an excellent culture for hands on doers who like to look beyond just on simple functional focus.
The Sales Team based in China develops the companys future market position in China. We are recruiting a Sales Manager who will be the first line of commercial contact for a number of existing large revenue generating accounts in China. The job-holder will also be responsible for locating and developing new customers in new hubs and maintaining contact with competitors accounts. The role requires involvement in developing and maintaining a sustainable supply chain and customer service in order to drive world-class customer excellence.

Key responsibilities:
- Meeting targeted sales volumes
  • Prepare annual budgets / forecasts by customer.
  • Support the planning process for contract negotiations.
  • Manage distributors to select appropriate customers and set weekly pricing and volumes.

- Understanding customers businesses & Build multi-level customer relationships
  • Analyze customer financial condition.
  • Visit customer plants and distributors customers to understand derivative process and markets.
  • Build strong, professional, trusting relationships with each customer.

- Develop and implement robust and living key account plans and strategies.
  • Prepare and maintain key account development plans for all customers.
  • Ensure the Companys value proposition and customers next best alternative are defined in each account plan. - Managing pricing and customer netbacks / profitability
  • Keep appraised of industry trends and events affecting methanol supply / demand fundamentals.
  • Communicate clearly with each customer on changes to market fundamentals and impact on their monthly pricing.
  • Work with customer service and finance functions to prepare credit applications.

- Potential new business opportunities
  • Continually look for opportunities for the Company to grow in China.
  • Seek new customers

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 2 to 5 years experience in Sales and Marketing roles.
  • Undergraduate degree desired, MBA / CFA preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with excellent verbal and written English communication skills required.
  • Excellent Chinese language proficiency (spoken & written) is a must.
  • World-class analytical skills essential.
  • Strong negotiating skills and experience an asset.
  • Solid organization and time management skills a must.
  • Big team player with agility to work across organizational / functional boundaries.
  • Capacity to get things done through others without a direct reporting relationship
