Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Director is responsible for operations management. The incumbent will:

Responsible for operations management including manufacturing, human resources and administration, facilities and maintenance, cost reduction, efficiency, quality, training and safety.
To establish long and short-term manufacturing objectives; monitoring costs and profitability. Proactively monitor customer satisfaction and drive improvements at the factory-level.
Create a positive work culture that encourages continuous improvement and teamwork to drive great business outcomes.
Set standards for production targets in terms of volume, costs and quality, and raise the organization’s ability to meet these standards.
Use process, quality and production improvement methodologies, direct the development, planning, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods for new or existing products and technologies. This includes ongoing quality, safety and efficiency improvements for all manufacturing operations and compliance with state and provincial safety regulations.
Create and maintain accurate documentation for manufacturing of parts; maintain data in an ERP system; ensure positive employee relations; providing feedback and direction to Engineers, Buyers and Planners.
Take ownership of employee training and development, and promote a preventive maintenance culture for the manufacturing capital equipment.
Postgraduate and/or Degree in an engineering discipline.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment, as well as strong knowledge of industry and management methodologies such as ISO 9000, ISO 14000/14001, Total Quality Management, Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
Solid experience in metal processing technology field.
Acquainted with mould construction, jig and fixture fabrication for effective manufacturing.
Knowledgeable in machinery attributes pertinent to metal products manufacturing.
Familiar with sheet metal work, forging, CNC and other manufacturing processes.
Self-driven with strong leadership; interpersonal savvy with excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills; able to foster team spirit, ethics and values.
