Job Description

Based in Hong Kong, the Country Human Resources Manager plays a critical role on the tactical and operational level of HR related activities. Articulating thorough knowledge of local labor laws and market information, the HR Manager develops action plans through collaborating cross-functionally with the business planning team to achieve business goals under a sophisticated business landscape.

The high-caliber candidate would execute, in excellence, below key HR accountabilities in a rapidly changing environment.

  • Oversees the operation of HR initiatives (e.g. Performance Management, Career Development, Health and Safety, Compensation and Benefits, Workforce Planning and Employee Relations) and formulates plans to ensure effective implementation that are aligned with business needs

  • Actively manages and evaluates candidate sourcing and workforce planning strategies to ensure staffing needs are promptly filled in compliance with local labor laws and compensation and benefits policies

  • Identifies skill gaps and developmental opportunities at individual and team level through frequent performance evaluations in a consistent and objective manner

  • Understands with sensitivity local labor issues and priorities to formulate effective leadership decisions that helps to foster positive employee relations

  • Manages HR relationships through offering guidance to cross-function managers on employee related issues and concerns

  • Upholds sound HR solutions with integrity in accordance to business priorities

  • Leverages business relationships in a highly effective manner across peers, business management and internal customers to provide valued support on achieving business goals

  • Ensures a healthy and safe workplace through programs implementation in accordance to required trainings and compliance

  • Imparts UPS Culture and Legacies to ensure business continuity through articulating business-planning expertise and organizational values

The successful candidate would likely to articulate the following.
  • A Degree holder of Human Resources Management/International Business or equivalent
  • A minimum of 10 years solid HR experience (including Talent Acquisition, Compensation & Benefits, Performance and Career Management) with managerial level experience in a sizeable MNC. Experience in related industry is highly desirable
  • Sound knowledge of local labor laws and a good understanding of its impacts evolving specific jobs and policies within the organization
  • Strong business acumen being able to determine and accelerate organizational growth
  • A leader who guides and coaches a team well to encourage continuous growth and development
  • A professional executive who embraces changes, is passionate, empowered, agile and innovative with integrity and ability to handle sensitive information in strict confidentiality
  • A good team player who can foster partnerships across functions, business units and external partners through establishing trusting and reputable relationships
  • Proficient in English and Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin)
